BuildPanel Limited Warranty

- What This Warranty Covers
BuildPanel Technology Inc. (“BuildPanel”) warrants to the original purchaser that all standardized structural and exterior components it manufactures or supplies will be free from material defects for two (2) years from the date of delivery. Roof panels are additionally covered for a period of five (5) years against material defects that result in leaks or structural failure.
This warranty covers only the materials provided by BuildPanel and does not extend to installation, site preparation, third-party handling, or any services not performed directly by BuildPanel.
- What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This limited warranty does not cover, and BuildPanel shall have no responsibility for:
- Improper installation, site preparation, or leveling by the purchaser or third-party contractors.
- Shipping damage (customer must inspect shipment upon delivery and file claims directly with the carrier).
- Use of non-BuildPanel parts or materials.
- Normal wear and tear, cosmetic changes, and minor warping.
- Fading, discoloration, or other cosmetic changes due to weather or UV exposure, even if painted.
- Failure to follow BuildPanel’s care and maintenance guidelines.
- Mold, mildew, pest damage, or acts of God (floods, earthquakes, etc.).
- Unauthorized modifications or alterations.
- Any labor, shipping, or transportation costs related to the defect or its repair/replacement.
IMPORTANT: Customers are responsible for painting or sealing exposed wood or exterior surfaces with a high-quality acrylic exterior paint within 90 days of delivery and repainting at least every 5 years. Failure to follow this maintenance schedule voids the warranty.
- Installation and Delivery Disclaimers
BuildPanel does not offer installation or site preparation services. We may provide referrals to third-party contractors, but these are not employees or agents of BuildPanel. As such, BuildPanel disclaims all liability for any services performed by third parties.
Delivery is conducted by third-party carriers. The customer must inspect the shipment upon delivery and note any damage on the bill of lading. Claims for shipping damage must be submitted directly to the carrier.
- Customer Responsibilities
To maintain warranty coverage, the purchaser must:
- Inspect the shipment immediately upon delivery.
- Paint or seal exposed exterior surfaces within 90 days.
- Repaint or reseal at least every 5 years.
- Follow all BuildPanel installation and maintenance recommendations.
- Ensure the product is installed on a properly prepared, level, and well-drained site.
BuildPanel reserves the right to deny warranty coverage due to failure to meet these requirements.
- Claims Process
To file a warranty claim:
- Notify BuildPanel in writing within 14 days of discovering the defect.
- Include the following:
- Proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, or order confirmation).
- Date of delivery.
- Detailed description of the defect.
- Photos of the affected area.
- Email claims to: info@buildpanel.com
Claims received outside the warranty term or without the above documentation may be denied.
BuildPanel may request return of the defective part for inspection before issuing a replacement. Replacement parts are provided at BuildPanel’s sole discretion.
- Limitations of Liability
This warranty is limited to the replacement of defective materials only. Under no circumstances shall BuildPanel be liable for any:
- Installation costs or labor charges.
- Transportation, shipping, or handling fees.
- Consequential, indirect, or incidental damages.
- Loss of use, time, income, or profit.
No other warranties, express or implied (including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose), apply. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights under applicable laws.
- Registration and Activation
To activate this warranty, the original purchaser must register their BuildPanel product online or submit proof of purchase at the time of any claim. Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and installation location and is non-transferable.
- Governing Law
This warranty and all related disputes shall be governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia. By purchasing BuildPanel products, you agree to be bound by our Terms of Service, available at www.buildpanel.com/terms.
